We set sail from Ala Wai Boat Harbor at 11am under ideal weather conditions. The sky was mostly clear with a few light clouds, the sun was shining brightly, and the wind was a steady 12 knots from the northeast. The ocean was calm, with gentle waves, making it a perfect day for a midday sail and snorkeling adventure.
Departing from Ala Wai Boat Harbor, our group of friends buzzed with excitement. The Caelestis glided smoothly through the water, her 65′ cutter-rigged sloop design proving ideal for the journey. The breathtaking views of Waikiki and Diamond Head created a stunning backdrop as we headed out to sea.
Our guests quickly adapted to the rhythm of the ocean, enjoying a blend of relaxation and adventure. The gentle sway of the Caelestis and the refreshing sea breeze set the stage for an unforgettable day. Our crew shared fascinating information about the local marine life and sailing techniques, adding an educational element to the trip.
We anchored near Diamond Head, where the group eagerly donned their snorkeling gear and dove into the crystal-clear waters. The underwater scenery was vibrant with life, and our guests were thrilled to swim alongside colorful fish, majestic sea turtles, and a playful pod of dolphins. The calm, protected waters provided the perfect environment for a leisurely swim and exploration.
As the day came to a close, we hoisted the anchor and set off on our return journey. The calm waters of Diamond Head transitioned into the exciting swells of the Molokai’i Channel. On our way back, we were delighted by the sight of a majestic whale breaching and playing alongside the Caelestis, providing a spectacular finale to an already magical day.
