Caelestis is a 65′, custom, blue-water, cutter-rigged sloop designed and built for sailing the ocean. She has a beam (width) just under 13′ which enables her to slice through the water effortlessly.
Caelestis is fully equipped with a master cabin, 2 heads, one shower and a galley.
The sugar scoop stern is equipped with a swim ladder for easy boarding from the water.
Caelestis is Latin, meaning “heavenly, coming from the sky, the blue color of the sky”. It’s an appropriate name for a sailing vessel located in the Hawaiian Islands because by observing the stars, the winds and the shape of ocean swells, Polynesian explorers navigated for thousands of miles without charts or instruments.
They sailed against prevailing winds and currents aboard double canoes to settle the Hawaiian Islands. Comparatively, while early Polynesian explorers were leaving the sight of land in their wake, Greek mariners stayed close to the comfort of the coastlines.
